Editorial:  Evolving Networks
July 26, 2007 -- Flight figures heavily in this week's outing of Emerging China. There are two pieces by Edward Russell, which show how an ever increasing number of airports and airlines away from the coast are serving more and more people - both in China and abroad. In our lead feature he gives a rundown of recent developments in infrastructure that are set to benefit air logistics. He also reports on how East Star, a Wuhan-based airline, has made its first flight abroad.

Roads get a look in too. The Asian Development Bank has given $200 million to be invested in Sichuan's highways. Improvements in that network will probably benefit the customers of the newly opened Chongqing office of business to business company, Ali Baba. It's key because getting from place to place precedes selling from places to place.
