July 25, 2007 -- Jingneng Group's wind power project in Inner Mongolia has established system connection and power generation ahead of schedule The Beijing 2008 Olympic Villages electric power supply project has entered fully operational stages well in advance, reported Xinjing News July 16th.

The project has had 134 wind power generators connected to the grid and overall power generation commenced a few days ago, at least a year ahead of schedule.

Jingneng group had invested a total of 8 million yuan on the "Green Olympic" project with a view to accommodating at least 20% of the total electric power needed to fuel the Olympic Villages. The project which commenced on July 31, 2005 had its first set of generators completely grid connected with power generation commencing on November 29, 2006.

According to Xinjing Newspaper, the wind power project is expected to provide up to 150 million KWH of electric power by the end of this year.
