Brief:  Air Products Signs a Deal with Nanjing's Wison
August 16, 2007 -- United States-based Air Products announced on August 8 that it had signed a second long-term contract with Wison (Nanjing) Chemical Company Ltd to support Wison's second phase of expansion. A new air separation unit (ASU) which can produce more than 1,600 tons of oxygen daily will be built nearby to the first ASU which was built under a 2005 contract with Wison. It will be used to supply on-site gaseous oxygen and nitrogen to Wison's syngas plant located in the Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park (NCIP), Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.

"Our performance in executing our first ASU project for Wison was a critical factor in winning this second long-term contract. With this further investment, we are gaining significant momentum in our Tonnage Gases and large ASU businesses in China," said Howard Castle-Smith, vice president of Tonnage Gases Asia, Air Products in a statement.

By the using the ASU Wison will be able to produce the basic chemicals which are used to produce a variety of products such as paints, adhesives and plastics.
