Brief:  Sichuan-HK Promotion Group Established to Strenghen Bilateral Trade Relations
September 12, 2007 -- A special promotion group for tighter economic and trade relations between the mainland and Hong Kong was established in Chengdu on September 6, 2007, reported Sichuan News. Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Chengdu announced greater ties of tighter cooperation between the two economic partners.

Sichuan has only opened up software enterprises to foreign business and is especially lacking in international enterprises and professionals in accounting, legal affairs, insurance, logistics and finance, Liu Xin, vice president of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, told the newspaper. Hong Kong enterprises are more familiar with international regulations and have sufficient experience in this aspect. Sichuan is in urgent need of such enterprises especially those that have business relationships with World Top 500 enterprises. Liu also said that Sichuan would like to open these services to Hong Kong prior to the overall oversea markets due to their pre-existing ties.
