News:  Wonder Auto Technology Awarded $32 Million Export Contract
December 10, 2007 -- Liaoning's Wonder Auto Technology, Inc., which specializes in automotive electrical and suspension parts production, signed its largest sales contract, covering the sale of approximately 800,000 automotive alternators, with a foreign automotive customer, the company announced on November 26, 2007. The contract will result in sales totaling US$32 million over three years.

"Historically, this is our biggest export deal," Meirong Yuan, CFO of Wonder Auto, told Emerging China. "The quantity should be 800,000 units, and the unit price will be 309 yuan, which is consistent with the company export strategy - that is, the focus is to continually increase the proportion of the export volumes in our sales. In this case, it will benefit both Wonder Auto's income and its reputation, so as to attract more large purchase orders."

The automotive alternators will be shipped to a west Asian country via the client's sourcing center based in Shanghai, said Yuan.

"Western Asia has potential since its can produce trucks or vans, but the producers cannot make automotive electrical parts and suspension parts for cars, which require special technological requirements. Wonder Auto's $32 million deal should be contributed by the company's previous experience relating to sampling, quality control, with smaller orders. Thus, it should be fantastic business cooperation for both sides in this deal. However, the west Asia market presents its financial risks, such as corruption, etc. So Wonder Auto's big deal might meet challenges." Yi Yang, salesperson at Jiaxing International Electrics told Emerging China.

Wonder Auto's Yuan thinks that the large scale of automotive alternators supply of this contract will strengthen the confidence of the company to be an automotive manufacturer in China, because the manufacturer has successfully supplied automotive alternators to many business car manufacturers worldwide, like LDV from the UK.

"Wonder Auto is in a period of rapid development, it has an experienced R&D team working on researching and manufacturing all types of alternators, which is shown by the company's past growth," Tiao Zou, vice marketing manager of Qianjiaxin Investment Co, Ltd told Emerging China.
