Brief:  First foreign hotel to open doors in Changbai Mountains in January
December 26, 2007 -- US-based chain Days Inn will be the first foreign hotel in northeast China's Changbai Mountains next month, the state-owned Xinhua newswire reported Monday. The hotel, which cost 120 million yuan (US$16 million) and has 122 rooms, will open on Jan. 18. The Changhai Mountains, localed in the southeast of Jilin province, are China's largest nature reserve. The area is home to Siberian tigers and snow leopards. An airport is scheduled to be opened next August. Days Inn is part of the Wyndham Hotel Group.
