February 29, 2008 -- The China National Offshore Oil Corp. signed a cooperation agreement with the government of Shandong province last month, home to about a quarter of the nation's independent oil refineries.

China National Offshore Oil Corp. will be able to acquire local independent refineries to accelerate expansion in the domestic oil-processing sector, announced the Shandong government, according to a report in the state-owned Shanghai Daily newspaper.
