Brief:  China to build two more rail lines to central Asia
February 11, 2008 -- China will have two new railways directly lead into middle Asia Railway network in Xinjiang Autonomous Region by the end of 2010. The two railways will be China- Kyrgyzstan- Uzbekistan railway and Jinghe-Yining- Horgos railway, which will join the railway network in Kazakhstan, according to the state-owned Xinhua newswire.

According to the plan, China government will invest more than six billion yuan (US$830 million) to build the Jinghe-Yining-Horgos Railway, which will be completed by the end of this year. It will become the second international railway connecting China and Kazakhstan, after the Alataw Pass Railway.

The Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway is now in the early stages of construction. The starting point will be Kashi, which is the final station of the South-Xinjiang Railway. It will across Kyrgyzstan and end in Uzbekistan. It is expected to completed by the end of 2010.
